To pursue sustainable development and continual growth, the Group leveraged its strengths in manufacturing on an OEM/ODM basis and diversified into electronics business. Currently, the Group's electronics investment can be divided into three areas, component and system assembling (PCB & PCBA), TFT-LCD display (LCM & LCD monitor), mechanical parts and others.
The Group's main starting point of electronics business was Printed Circuit Boards (PCB), an essential and indispensable element in all electronics commodities, operated by Global Brands Manufacture Ltd. ("GBM", http://www.gbm.com.tw). GBM also expanded into Printed Circuit Boards Assembly (PCBA) thereafter to offer customers more dynamic services. Furthermore, the Group also established a partnership with CMK Corporation of Japan , a leading producer globally of PCB, to improve products quality, manufacture technology, and increase Japanese customers. PCB and PCBA products currently include applications for consumer electronics, communications devices, mobile phone and automotive products. The Group has expanded its PCB and PCBA production lines both in Guangdong and Kunshan, and will continue to diversify its products (such as HDI, IC carrier, etc) in the future.
Starting from backlight module, LCD module, to LCD monitor, the Group has built a full line for TFT-LCD display manufacturing and distribution, which are operated by China Lion Associates Ltd., Digital Decade Ltd., MindTech Display Co., Ltd., and Techview International Technology Inc., respectively. Because the Group entered TFT-LCD display sector in recent few years, the first stage was to enhance its production capability in order to achieve economies of scale. Thereafter, the Group will integrate its resources to simplify manufacturing processes, shorten product development, enhance cost competitiveness, and develop products with high added value .
The Group's mechanical parts manufacturing is mainly operated by Pou Yuen Technology Co., Ltd. ("Pou Yuen", http://www.pouyuen.com.tw) , primarily engaged in the manufacture of precision injections & moldings for monitors and other 3C products, the manufacture of magnesium die casting for notebooks and mobile phones. Pou Yuen has other products such as precision system controller, engineering system & service software, supply chain management system, to provide customers a full integrated total solution. Meanwhile, the Group will continue leveraging its existing technologies and resources, to develop higher value-added products and maximize shareholders' value, i.e. TurboDent System, a dental prosthesis system incorporated in the latest dental CAD/CAM technology (http://www.tdsbiotech.com) The Group will maintain its OEM business model in electronics industry, and duplicate its successful experience in footwear business using the strategies of vertical integration and horizontal expansion, to consolidate the upstream and the downstream of electronics supply chain, and to develop multiple IT products; Pou Chen shall re-create another leading manufacturer in electronics.
